Leafs reportedly bring in Devin Setoguchi on professional tryout

According to Matt Brown of Sportsnet's Fan 590 The Fan, the Leafs have brought in former 30-goal scorer Devin Setoguchi on a professional tryout (PTO).

Setoguchi, a former eighth overall selection in the 2005 NHL Draft, has played at a career 43-point, 82-game pace, including five consecutive seasons that paced at 31, 23, 25, 23 and 22 goals respectively.

In his two most recent campaigns, Setoguchi has seen that consistent production take a hit, with just 27 points in his last 87 games split between the Flames and Jets.

The tryout appears to be another in a long list of cheap moves by the Leafs in order to drive up competition in training camp. He's 28 years old.
