Josh Leivo, recently named an AHL All-Star, is the best forward currently on the Toronto Marlies Roster.

With Mark Arcobello up with the Leafs, and William Nylander out with an injury, Leivo is the top point getter amongst active forwards with 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points.

He's been very hot lately, stepping up to carry the load when Nylander and Kasperi Kapanen left to play in the World Junior Championships. He is 12th in the league in points, and 13th in primary points per game. He had the game-winning goals in both games this past weekend against the Moose.

At 22, and in his third full year on the Marlies, he is at the stage where a player wants to make the leap up to the big leagues. He's played a few games in the past, but now he's getting his chance to impress Mike Babcock.

With the injury to James van Riemsdyk, he's been called up to the Leafs. It remains to be seen where he will draw into the lineup, but it's a interesting move, given the Leafs now have a left wing with NHL experience in Jeremy Morin.
