Kapanen goes to his knees to pass to Soshnikov

The Marlies are outscoring the IceCaps 4-2 in the first, but dat pass was quite the beauty.

The Toronto Marlies are cutting through the St. John's IceCaps like a hot knife through butta. In the first period they've gotten all of six shots on goal -- four of them have gone in, two from powerplay goals. IceCaps took three minor penalties in a row, and the Marlies capitalized on an undoubtedly tired goaltender in the last two of those.

And then there was this ridiculous move. Kasperi Kapanen cuts through two penalty killers, drops to his knees to extend his reach, passes through another IceCap player to Soshnikov, who nets a beauty of a goal. I have to wonder, though -- does Kapanen have to trip at least once for each of his beautiful plays? Maybe it's part of his charm.
