Nylander says appendicitis, not a concussion, kept him out

William Nylander, speaking with Todd Crocker today, said it was actually appendicitis that kept him out longer than he'd anticipated.

Nylander, who was knocked out of the World Juniors after suffering an apparent concussion, said he was cleared through the AHL's protocols fairly quickly.

After a prolonged absence, Nylander -- who was the AHL's leading scorer before the injury -- returns to the Marlies lineup tonight riding 34 points in 27 games on the season. Good news for Leafs fans.
