# 2017 NHL All-Star Game Rosters

The all-star roster was announced on January 10, with six forwards, three defenders and two goaltenders named for each division. The first competition of the event every year is the race to see who can opt out, who gets opted out by injury and who replaces them.

So far Evgeni Malkin is out, and Cam Atkinson is in. There may be more changes.

The league routinely suspends players for one game if they drop out but have not missed any games prior to the event. Malkin missed the most recent Penguins game, so he’s in the clear.
