Is Freddy ready?

After beating the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night, the Maple Leafs had a day off and are now heading south to take on the Nashville Predators. With only seven games left on the schedule each one matters, and the Maple Leafs need to win on this road trip. Luckily the Predators are their only strong competition, after this it’s the Red Wing son Saturday and back to Buffalo next Tuesday. Then we have a four game home stand to finish off the season against the Capitals, Lightning, Penguins, and Blue Jackets.

Okay, one quick thing that has always bugged me: The Perds blog has a boring name. No attempt at a bun or localizing it up. Snoozetown.

Anyway, the Maple Leafs are hoping for a healed up Frederik Andersen in net tonight, but we have nothing solid on that front yet. If he’s out it will be Curtis McElhinney and Garret Sparks as the tandem again.

The Maple Leafs are 4-1 in their past five, beating Boston, Columbus, New Jersey, and Florida. The Predators are 3-2 in their past five, beating Arizona, Calgary, and San Jose while losing to Boston and the Islanders - nope sorry, a reader from Nashville has corrected me and they beat the Islanders. You’re still jerks for losing to Boston though.
