The Orlando Solar Bears will open the 2017-18 season on the road against new in-state rival the Jacksonville Icemen on October 14th. This will be the Icemen’s first ECHL game in Jacksonville as the league returns to that city for the first time since the Jacksonville Lizard Kings were a member of the league from 1995 - 2000. The Bears then travel west to Allen Texas for the first time, for a two-game series against the Americans beginning October 21st.

The home schedule kicks off against the Atlanta Gladiators on October 28 for one of only two games against Atlanta at the Amway Center this coming season. The home schedule sees the Bears face 9 opponents in all, with a high of nine games against rivals the Florida Everblades. The team will travel to Estero for an additional six games against Florida. The next most frequent opponent is the South Carolina Stingrays, currently competing for the Kelley Cup (league championship) will 11 matchups, 5 at home and 6 on the road.

The team faces the Norfolk admirals seven times (5 home, 2 road) which may be an indication that Norfolk will be in the South division next season. This is the most games against a team that is not a traditional South division rival.
