How can the team play a weak game and then a great game vs the Penguins, then a pitiful game vs Carolina and a good game vs TB? Is it due to the coach and team leaders not stressing the urgency of each game? Luck or lack thereof? It seems, eg, that Carolina plays every game with intensity, but the Leafs--with arguably more talent--don't. Also, many goals vs the Leafs are simply because of basic defensive lapses, espec. puck watching by the D &/or the C/F rather than marking/defending each player in front of the net, but also lackadaisacal/weak passes out of the D zone, risky back passes, etc. And that indicates lack of defensive coaching such as Trotz brought to Wash and the NYI
