For some inexplicable reason [Mike Komisarek](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/55649/mike-komisarek?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) is allowed to skate on the ice with [James van Riemsdyk](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/70845/james-van-riemsdyk?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and during this unnatural dance between a hockey player and Mike Komisarek our press box filler hit JVR in the skate with a slapshot.

Perhaps the press box has a weight bench, perhaps Mike Komisarek has grown strong from carrying around his modest expectations on his underwhelming talent, who can say? All that we know is the JVR had x-rays on his foot and it doesn't sound serious (thank Wendel).

We'll keep you updated as this story develops.

**Update:** Good news as JVR went to have his foot x-rayed and it's just a bruise. Colton Orr however dislocated a finger.
