Excuse me. I'm excited. [Brett Lebda](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/55731/brett-lebda?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) is obviously terrible and the last time I saw [Robert Slaney](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/72011/robert-slaney?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) it was to tell him we decided to go with a different alternate player for Tuesday night pick up. Nashville gave up [Matthew Lombardi](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54661/matthew-lombardi?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) who seems like a 50pt guy but missed all of last season with a concussion and has two years left at $3.5M per.

It's likely Lombardi won't play for Toronto and will instead occupy our LTIR and free up money on Nashville's budget. The price for this deal? [Cody Franson](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54426/cody-franson?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com). Cody Franson is a 23 year old defender who put up 29 points last year with the [Predators](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/nashville-predators?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and will be an RFA next summer.
