Today is Simcoe Day in Toronto. The holiday is named after [John Graves Simcoe, the first Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John%5FGraves%5FSimcoe?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com). Ah, Upper Canada; forever confusing fifth grade history students as the province *south* of Lower Canada.

If you are not in Toronto the holiday is probably called something else. It's also not a holiday for our friends working in retail. Yes, this means you can still buy booze today.
