Listen to your goalie, Maple Leafs

Last night the Toronto Maple Leafs let the Chicago Blackhawks get the best fo them for 40 minutes, then tried to score six goals in the final 20. Not a great strategy to try and figure out this late in the season. The Leafs goalie, Frederik Andersen, agrees.

Andersen was pulled for the second straight game after the Leafs fell behind by four goals. First the Lightning, then the Blackhawks. It’s time for the Maple Leafs to figure this shit out, because it’s almost playoff time.

Some highlights did come from last night’s game:

Mitchell Marner reached 60 assists on the season, the first Maple Leaf to do so since Doug Gilmour in the 92-93 season.

John Tavares set a new career high in goals, with 39 on the season.

William Nylander scored his 100th assist.

Auston Matthews played in his 200th game.

People are wondering if falling behind is intentional, if the team is trying to fall down into the first wild card spot, to get an easier path through the Metro Division.

While that would be great, it would also involve the Montreal Canadiens going on a hot streak and you know what? We don’t need that in this world.

Now, the news.
