# Garret Sparks named AHL Goalie of the Month

Garret "Sparkles" Sparks (man, I hope he loves that nickname) has been named the [CCM AHL Goaltender of the month](http://theahl.com/ahl-names-award-winners-for-november-p200470?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) of November.

The man who shut out the [Oilers](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/edmonton-oilers?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), and made us all [weep alongside him with joy](https://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/watch-garret-sparks-cries-after-learning-he-made-toronto-maple-leafs/), posted a 6-0-1 record for the Toronto Marlies while serving up a 1.39 GAA and .958 sv%.

Sparks took over for the returning [Antoine Bibeau](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/198383/antoine-bibeau?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and help the Marlies rally to a 9-8 win over the St. John's IceCaps, effectively owning the Marlies net from that point forward.

Spark would be rewarded for his play by the [Maple Leafs](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/toronto-maple-leafs?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) by starting his first NHL game on November 30th, getting a [shut out win](https://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/leafs-3-oilers-0-mr-sparkle-gets-a-shutout/) over the Edmonton Lotteries.
