# Leafs and Children's Wish Foundation sign superstar

The Leafs did something right, something great.

Amid the chaos, as reports surfaced that [Phil Kessel and David Booth got into a scuffle at Leafs practice](https://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/phil-kessel-vs-david-booth-literally-maple-leafs-news/), some brighter news broke, this time out of Saskatchewan, courtesy of [Global News](http://globalnews.ca/news/1906446/wish-granted-for-young-maple-leafs-fan-from-saskatchewan/?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com).

Garrett Gamble Jr., 11, was born with a rare disease called Morquio Syndrome, which affects his bones, his heart and his hearing. 

His dream - to meet the [Toronto Maple Leafs](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/toronto-maple-leafs?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) \- was granted in the form of the chance to sign a one-day contract.

This Saturday he will visit Toronto with his family to meet [Brendan Shanahan](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/68905/brendan-shanahan?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and the team at their morning skate and drop the puck for the ceremonial face-off before flying home next week.
