# Leafs prospect Martins Dzierkals advances to second round of QMJHL playoffs

When Martins Dzierkals' Rouyn-Noranda Huskies defeated the Drummondville Voltigeurs 7-3 last night, it capped off one of the most dominant displays of strength ever by a CHL team.

The series, which concluded with its closest game, saw the top-ranked CHL team dismantle a Drummondville squad without both of its goalies.

The Huskies, through four games, outscored the Voltigeurs by a margin of 33-4 (10-0, 6-0, 10-1, 7-3), scoring on 25% of their shots in the series after putting 28 goals past 16-year-old, 1999-born goalie Tristan Berube (who made his first four QMJHL starts ever in the series).

For Dzierkals, after finishing his rookie season in the QMJHL with 67 points in 59 games, the series was a quiet one.

After picking up lone assists in each of the first three games, Dzierkals capped off Game 4 with the opening goal and a primary assist on the seventh tally.

As his first-place Huskies team enters the second round, Dzierkals sits seventh on the team in scoring with five points (1G, 4A), well behind [Sharks](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/san-jose-sharks?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) prospect [Timo Meier](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/255261/timo-meier?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and Sens prospect [Francis Perron](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/246340/francis-perron?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) at 13 points. And while his shot generation is stable at 11 through four games (third on the team), Dzierkals will be counted on to produce more offensively than he did in the first round.

The Huskies will face the lowest-seeded team to advance out of both the first and second round, so it could be a while before (if) Dzierkals gets a chance to play fellow Leafs prospect [Dmytro Timashov](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/257873/dmytro-timashov?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), whose Shawinigan Cataractes lead their series with the Sherbrooke Phoenix 3-1\. Timashov has seven points (1G, 6A) through four games.
