The Leafs have signed [Carl Gunnarsson](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/72010/carl-gunnarsson?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) to a three year deal with a cap hit of $3.15M per year.

Gunnarsson was rumored to have a severe hip injury this season, but previously he had been very good next to [Dion Phaneuf](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54651/dion-phaneuf?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com).

This is a good price for a guy who was playing well on our first pair; the first piece of good Leafs news in a long time.
