# Maple Leafs 4 at Penguins 5 (SO): Sidney Crosby Is Good

The [Toronto Maple Leafs](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/TOR?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com)' incredible run of seven straight wins in overtime or shootouts was snapped as the [Penguins](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/PIT?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) scored twice in the shootout to win 5-4\. Canadian Hero [Sidney Crosby](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/55428/Sidney%5FCrosby?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) scored two goals to take his tally to 47 while adding the shootout winner. [Marc-Andre Fleury](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54838/Marc%5FAndre%5FFleury?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and [Jean-Sebastien Giguere](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54527/Jean%5FSebastien%5FGiguere?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) made a number of incredible saves to keep their respective teams in the game. [Colton Orr](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54200/Colton%5FOrr?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) of all people opened the scoring after [Rickard Wallin](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/72258/Rickard%5FWallin?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) almost pulled off the Forsberg. [Phil Kessel](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54905/Phil%5FKessel?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) notched his 30th to become the first Leaf other than Sundin to score 30 since Alex Mogilny. [Carl Gunnarsson](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/72010/Carl%5FGunnarsson?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) tied things up after errors by [Luke Schenn](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54281/Luke%5FSchenn?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and [Tyler Bozak](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/71017/Tyler%5FBozak?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) allowed Crosby to put the Penguins ahead.

Tyler Bozak made up for it by giving the Leafs a 4-3 lead when he potted a rebound after a nice three-way passing play between Kessel, Kaberle, and [Dion Phaneuf](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54651/Dion%5FPhaneuf?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com). [Viktor Stalberg](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/72012/Viktor%5FStalberg?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com)'s failure to clear the zone when he had the puck and then his and [Tomas Kaberle](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54289/Tomas%5FKaberle?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com)'s total lack of communication allowed the worst person in the world to tie the game left with about three minutes left. This was a game that saw the Leafs badly outshot at evens. Phaneuf, [Fredrik Sjostrom](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54195/Fredrik%5FSjostrom?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), [Francois Beauchemin](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54518/Francois%5FBeauchemin?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), and Stalberg were all killed in Corsi.

So the Leafs move to 69 points (hehe) which is 3 short of jumping over two teams but they have the fewest games remaining. Tomorrow night we are Atlanta and Nashville fans as they take on the [Hurricanes](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/CAR?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and the [Panthers](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/FLA?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com). The Leafs are going to need every bit of help but there is definitely hope.
