Today marks the first anniversary of the death of [Wade Belak](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/55526/wade-belak?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com). As we sit around talking about how slow the offseason has been - held up by guys who use fans' love of hockey as leverage at a bargaining table - it seems like a good day to remember that last season brought worse news.
