The Leafs can simply go along with the roster they now have of 24 players, as long as one is on IR, and they make the LTIR move noted above.

They then have Bo Groulx to send down when whoever is put on IR if healthy if they choose. 

They are now at 50 SPCs with a packed full roster that includes eight defenders.
