**7PM ET: Leafs TV**

I get it guys, [Nikolai Khabibulin](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54845/nikolai-khabibulin?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com)'s save percentage makes Edmonton long for [Vesa Toskala](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54305/vesa-toskala?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and their defense gives up lots of shots per game (2nd most in the league). The thing is the Leafs aren't much better in the standings and play in a weaker conference overall. If you're expecting this game, or any game, to be a guaranteed win for the Maple Leafs you probably need to take a deep breath.

I want the Leafs to win too, obviously, and on balance a loss for Edmonton gets them closer to a #1 draft pick while getting the Leafs closer to escaping the draft lottery but I'd take it easy with the "AHLberta" nonsense. [Taylor Hall](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/111517/taylor-hall?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), [Magnus Paajarvi](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/71963/magnus-paajarvi?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and [Jordan Eberle](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/55099/jordan-eberle?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) are producing pretty well for rookies. [Ales Hemsky](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/55124/ales-hemsky?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and [Dustin Penner](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/55101/dustin-penner?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) aren't half bad, though Hemsky is [doubtful](http://twitter.com/?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com#!/NHL%5FOilers/status/10374479511293952) for tonight.

Giguere's still not ready so [Jonas Gustavsson](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/72169/jonas-gustavsson?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) starts. He sits at a .914 on the season but I think most people here would agree he's playing a lot better than league average. This is likely his last game before getting a well deserved rest; let's hope he finishes this stretch with a bang and gets the goal support he's deserved from this team for so long.
