Three goals allowed on 3.42 expected puts him as just a hair under Dennis Hildeby's results and a dramatic improvement on Anthony Stolarz or Cayden Primeau. Not bad for the first NHL game in many months. And much better than the guys who have been allowing 3.42 Expected Against in a game. Hildeby has faced 3.39 per game, Stolarz 2.75, and Primeau 2.07\. Everyone has been allowing around 3 goals per game. And that everyone is everyone, as that's a team measure which makes the Leafs a team that needs to score 4 goals on average to win. This isn't the first time in their modern history that's been true, but it is the crux of what has to change, however that comes about.
