The Leafs last game was away on March 4 against the New Jersey Devils, which Toronto lost by a score of 4-3 in a shootout. The Leafs have a record of 27-24-11 for a 0.524 Points %.

The New York Rangers last played at home on March 2 against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Rangers lost by a score of 5-4 in overtime, and their current league record is 23-29-8 for a 0.450 Points %.

### Them

In an epic of bad timing, the Rangers are having a series of centennial celebration games this season focusing on various parts of their history. Tonight is the modern era game, which luckily for them includes a Cup when the guest can't claim that. But what better pair of teams to be celebrating the longevity of a franchise that has prospered on the size of their fanbase without really trying very hard to win for much of this modern era. 

They both have been legitimate tryers lately. And they are both in the same leaky boat. 

Both teams have players on the roster they are likely about to trade who may or may not play tonight.

I was shocked yesterday when removing three regular rostered players including the best performing offensive defender did not make the Leafs better. 

Who knows who is even on the roster to play tonight, so assume last night's crew goes again, and if they actually trade someone, they can fly Jacob Quillan in to play 4C.

This is the same game as last night, which was the same game as the Flyers game which was the same game as the Panthers game. Out of the playoffs, rumours abounding about trades. 

They'll all settle down and play some fun no-pressure hockey starting next week until then it's tension on ice.
