The induction itself is on Monday.* The Leafs last game was at home on November 5 against the Boston Bruins, which Toronto won by a score of 4-0 in regulation. The Leafs have a record of 7-5-2 for a 0.571 Points %. The Detroit Red Wings last played away on November 6 against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Red Wings won by a score of 4-1 in regulation, and their current league record is 6-5-1 for a 0.542 Points %. ### Them Detroit has one very obvious elite forward line, and a very good top pair, and that's really about it. They are 31st in Even-Strength Corsi and 27th in Expected Goals. They're also fourth in Save %, which is likely contributing to their wins significantly. Their power play, though, it's got the highest rate of Expected Goals in the NHL, better than Colorado. (The Oilers are still mediocre like the Leafs, but both those teams will rise up the list.) The top unit is the Wings' top line with Lucas Raymond and one of Moritz Seider or Erik Gustafsson. They play a lot more than half the minutes. Shut down the top line and the top PP unit, stay out of the box, and get a lot of pucks on net. Cam Talbot has been the better goalie, by Alex Lyon has been very good. Did I mention stay out of the box? By placing him on IR, a roster spot is freed up for Connor Dewar. There is ample cap space, so the next question is how to make room for Jani Hakanpää after the extended conditioning stint is over. There are two extra defenders right now on the roster. One of them is going to be moved so Hakanpää can be activated.
