The Leafs last game was at home on November 12 against the Ottawa Senators, which Toronto lost by a score of 3-0 in regulation. The Leafs have a record of 9-6-2 for a 0.588 Points %.

The Washington Capitals last played away on November 9 against the St. Louis Blues. The Capitals won by a score of 8-1 in regulation, and their current league record is 10-4-0 for a 0.714 Points %.

Eight to one, eh? The Capitals also just reacquired Lars Eller, who is not expected to draw in tonight. 

Is that Points % real?

Well, if you're looking for the old Leafs somewhere, don't look at New Jersey, look at this team helmed by Spencer Carbery. They lead the NHL in Expected Goals For rate on a very good Corsi For rate, and that's enough to carry them even though their defence is fairly mediocre. 

Do I need to tell you their power play is good? I shouldn't think so.

 Logan Thompson has been good, Charlie Lindgren okay-ish. Logan Thompson is set to play his second game in a row – a first for the Capitals goalies this season.

And yes, seeing Rasmus Sandin play with Matt Roy is painful, thanks for asking.

The Leafs just played the worst game since the last worst game. And they cleverly did it on the first game of a back-to-back. For this second game there isn't any healthy players to draw in other than Alex Steeves or Phil Myers, so if the lineup changes, it won't be by much.
