Toronto are now tied with three other teams, including New York, with eight points on the season. Toronto has played the most games (8) so they're still at the bottom of the standings. The trip out of the PDO freezer starts with a single step and Toronto started making progress as they out-shot New York 30-19, with Spooner scoring twice on five shots. Spooner's second goal came on the power play, meaning Toronto scored on one of three advantages they had in the game. This first goal from Spooner was world class. Kristen Campbell stopped all 19 shots she faced for the shutout. The fact she faced fewer than 20 shots shows the progress the roster in front of her has made to improve their play to a dominant level.
