It has everything that will make for a great discussion: goal review commentary, refereeing, the playoffs, and the Bruins getting absolutely screwed. Don't get me wrong, I hate the Bruins more than I hate anything else in hockey. The fact that Jack Edwards probably had years off his lifespan from his raging at this fills me with glee. But the Bruins did, 100% get screwed by this goal being overturned for being a "hand pass". > Calling this a hand pass is absolutely not why the NHL instituted video review. Probably. The guy touched the puck with his glove and that was picked up by his teammate. Can't deny that. But he was trying to get his hand on his stick again, and BARELY touched it. It was not in any way a deliberate attempt to pass the puck to his teammate with his hand, anymore than a shot hitting a player on the hand and a teammate getting the rebound would be a hand pass to me. And the fallout makes this even better/worse. The Bruins were down 2-1 before Pastrnak scored a highlight reel goal to tie it. Only a couple of minutes later, Brandon Carlo scored after the above incident to take a 3-2 lead. The Panthers challenged it and the goal was overturned. Many laughs were had at Boston's expense. And then the Panthers scored almost right after, so Boston went from storming back to take a 3-2 lead to being down 3-2 instead. Simply incredible. But then they stormed back again in the third period, took a 4-3 lead, then the Panthers tied it up, then the Bruins scored a short handed goal to make it 5-4, then the Panthers scored on the rest of that powerplay again to tie it 5-5, then the Panthers took a 6-5 lead late in the third period and sealed the deal with an ENG after a desperation save and clear. It was a very entertaining game and the goal being called back didn't REALLY impact things that much with how back and forth it was in the third period. Still, fuckin funny though. The first was Ty Voit and the Sarnia sting, who lost game one of their Conference Finals in the OHL to London 4-1\.
