What I came away thinking was that in the NHL he just doesn't know his teammates yet. When you see him with Fraser Minten, who he just gets at a deep level, he's a superior player. I hesitate immensely to say this because comparisons always get read as oh, so he's an x-goal scorer, that's no good. But both Minten and Cowan are like Pontus Holmberg. It's not about level or goal-scoring, please be less obsessed with that, it's about how they get things done. When you're William Nylander, and you can marry the get it done to incredible talents of all kinds, well that's a star. When you're a normal NHLer, you have to use the get things done – the brain game – a whole lot more.
