# Maple Leafs announce development camp

The Toronto Maple Leafs will begin the development portion of their offseason on the Monday directly following the NHL Draft in Vancouver. Camp begins on June 24th, with Tuesday June 25th being the first media day at the MCC. Last year, the camp was a full week long and carried a very similar format so expect that again with a scrimmage on Saturday.

Per the release, Director of Player Development Scott Pellerin will be in charge of the camp, with new Leafs assistant coach Paul McFarland and Marlies head coach Sheldon Keefe acting as the main coaches. Leafs assistant coach Jim Hiller is officially off the team, and is reported to be joining the New York Islanders.

The list of players invited to the camp will be released after the Draft. It will include draft picks from the past few years, rookies under contract or on ATOs in the minor leagues, and free agent invitees from around junior hockey. One of the most-recent success stories of a development camp invitee is Mason Marchment. He was placed with Adam Brooks and college free agent signee Trevor Moore two summers ago and they have remained a successful trio ever since.
