# Toronto Maple Leafs cut 23 players from training camp

The [Toronto Maple Leafs](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/toronto-maple-leafs?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) have announced their first cuts from training camp today, moving forward with 53 players out of the original 80 (80? geez..).

The below players will return to their CHL teams:

Maple Leafs training camp continues this week, with the next preseason game happening on Thursday September 29, versus the [Buffalo Sabres](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/buffalo-sabres?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com). The game will be played at the Meridan Centre in St. Catharines, ON due to the [World Cup of Hockey](http://www.sbnation.com/hockey-world-cup?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) finals game 2 happening at the Air Canada Centre.
