As per a press release, the [Toronto Maple Leafs](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/toronto-maple-leafs?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) have made 13 cuts to their training camp roster. [David Broll](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/143366/david-broll?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), [Connor Brown](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/157254/connor-brown?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), [Jamie Devane](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/122152/jamie-devane?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) (what a waste), [Greg McKegg](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/111739/greg-mckegg?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), [Carson McMillan](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/232511/carson-mcmillan?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), [Brad Ross](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/111590/brad-ross?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), and [Brady Vail](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/157758/brady-vail?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) are the forwards that are headed towards the Marlies. Eric Knodel (the guy that pissed Don Cherry off), [Andrew MacWilliam](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/192341/andrew-macwilliam?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), [Brendan Mikkelson](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54545/brendan-mikkelson?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), and [Tom Nilsson](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/191735/tom-nilsson?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) will join them in the AHL. In net, [Christopher Gibson](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/132394/christopher-gibson?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and [Cal Heeter](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/151843/cal-heeter?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) have also been sent to the minor league camp.

Obviously, there aren't many surprises there among the forwards. None of them were going to have a shot especially a guy like McKegg who couldn't even get a sniff last year when the Leafs' centres all started melting down. Broll is behind a few illustrious meatheads so the knuckledragger role was always going to be tough to crack. Seeing MacWilliam and Nilsson not even get to the second weekend is a surprise especially the former as he was gushed over last year.
