We had some big-ish news drop on the weekend, so let’s get caught up: Starting with the Maple Leafs and family news, the Toronto Marlies announced two new coaches joining the staff: > The Toronto Marlies announced today the hiring of Hannu Toivonen as the team's Goaltending Coach and Troy Paquette as the team's Video Coach. He was also named [Team Services Coordinator](https://ontariohockeyleague.com/article/frontenacs-name-troy-paquette-team-services-coordinator?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) for the Frontenacs in July, but has left that role soon after getting promoted. Hannu Toivonen is the new goaltending coach for the Marlies, replacing the short lived [Dusty Imoo](https://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/toronto-marlies-reverse-themselves-on-dusty-imoo-hiring-maple-leafs-finally-realize-their-blunder/), and comes to us from Kalvola, Finland. He was an minor league goalie with a few short stops in the NHL, most notably was the goalie that Sidney Crosby scored his first NHL goal against. It will be great to see if Toivonen can make an impact. Aherne backed-up Johnny Bower in 1961, but a shot that hit him between the eyes ended his career.
