Toronto Maple Leafs prospects update: Toninato for Hobey Baker

Dominic Toninato and the UMD Bulldogs won the North Star College Cup this weekend, held in the Xcel Engery Centre in St. Paul, Minnesota. It’s the Minnesota ‘Beanpot’ tournament, with all the Minnesota D1 teams competing against each other. Toninato has the cup now, always good when a Leaf wins a championship.

Toninato is also now on the fan ballot for the NCAA’s Hobey Baker award. You can go here and vote through Facebook for the Leafs prospect.

Toninato is the captain of the UMD Bulldogs and has 6 goals, and 7 assists for 13 points in 26 games so far this season. He’s not a superstar, but why should that stop us from stuffing the ballot box for a Leafs prospect?

Vladimir Bobylyov is having a god time in Victoria, putting up four point last week for the Royals, who are now climbing the BC Division rankings in the WHL. Korostelev, Brooks, and Piccinich also had four point weeks.
