Last year they had a 1-4 record vs the Bruins, and all time in home openers vs Boston they are 8-5-2. The Maple Leafs will also be participating in another home opener, versus the [Ottawa Senators](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/ottawa-senators?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) on October 12th. Overall the Maple Leafs are 45-40-14 (W-L-T) in their home openers. The best one they had was their very first one in 1917 against the original Ottawa Senators, where they won 11-4\.
