The league-leading Tampa Bay Lightning have come to town to play one of the teams directly behind them in wins: the Toronto Maple Leafs. Both sides have incredible offenses, injured defenses, and a Vezina-quality starting goaltender.

Zach Hyman is a game-time decision for the Leafs after missing morning skate due to an unknown issue. Tyler Ennis will skate on the top line if Hyman isn’t able to go, with Trevor Moore, Frederik Gauthier, and Connor Brown skating as the fourth line regardless.

On defense, Travis Dermott was skating before Leafs practice today, good to see him making progress with his shoulder injury. Jake Gardiner, Calle Rosen, and Andreas Borgman still remain on the shelf for likely at least another week.

The Toronto Marlies played a back-to-back yesterday and today, losing both games by a tight scoreline. Kasimir Kaskisuo was forced to play all but 19 minutes over the two games as a result of Michael Hutchinson being taken out of Monday afternoon’s game at Scotiabank Arena due to precautionary reasons. What those reasons are, we don’t know. Is it a Hutchinson injury? Or could it be a Garret Sparks injury?

UPDATE: Sheldon Keefe said Hutchinson requested to sit for the remainder of the game as “he was not feeling right.”
