The CCM/AHL Player of the Month for October is Brendan Leipsic, and the Goalie of the Month is Antoine Bibeau.

The rookie of the month is Kyle Wood from the Tuscon Roadrunners.

The last Marlies forward to win this award was Connor Brown in December, 2014 as a rookie.  Nazem Kadri and Joe Colborne each won in 2011 as players, Colborne in the opening month just like Leipsic.  Garret Sparks and Ben Scrivens have won the goalie award.

One never a Marlie, but now a Leaf was a winner last year: Seth Griffith was Player of the Month for December.

So far this year, Leipsic has three goals and 10 assists for 13 points in eight games and a three point lead on his closest competitor as he sits atop the points standings for the league.

Antoine Bibeau has a .944 save percentage, good for sixth in the league, but he has done that over six games, unlike all of the goalies ahead of him.  He has set a franchise record for shutouts with his Friday win in Albany with nine, and there is only one goalie in the AHL who has faced more shots against so far this year.

The Marlies have won six games, lost one each in regulation and a shootout, and have the highest points percentage in the league.
