# From The Branches: Maple Leafs kick off Florida week vs. Lightning tonight

Both hockey teams from America's [most bizarre](http://wfla.com/2016/10/14/hernando-man-accused-of-stealing-steak-lobster-putting-the-food-down-his-pants/?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) state swing through the Golden Horseshoe this week. Tonight the [Maple Leafs](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/toronto-maple-leafs?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) play the [Lightning](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/tampa-bay-lightning?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com). On Thursday the [Panthers](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/florida-panthers?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) are in town.

Tonight's game will of course feature [Steven Stamkos](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/55082/steven-stamkos?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), the newly re-signed Lightning captain who briefly flirted with the Maple Leafs until he met John Tory and ran away screaming. He is really excited about playing here tonight:

Thursday will be the return of [James Reimer](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54304/james-reimer?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), though it's not yet clear if he or Luongo will be in net. Either way, **you better do an in game tribute for him, MLSE.**

ICYMI: tonight will supposedly be the first game for [Ben Smith](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/109119/ben-smith?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com), [whom the Leafs claimed on waivers yesterday](https://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/toronto-maple-leafs-liven-up-your-monday-with-some-waiver-moves-milan-michalek-ben-smith/). We will find out shortly after noon if anyone has claimed [Milan Michalek](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54753/milan-michalek?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) from the Leafs.
