Garret Sparks named AHL Goalie of the Month

Mr. Sparkle has taken the honour again.

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

Garret "Sparkles" Sparks (man, I hope he loves that nickname) has been named the CCM AHL Goaltender of the month of November.

The man who shut out the Oilers, and made us all weep alongside him with joy, posted a 6-0-1 record for the Toronto Marlies while serving up a 1.39 GAA and .958 sv%.

Sparks took over for the returning Antoine Bibeau and help the Marlies rally to a 9-8 win over the St. John's IceCaps, effectively owning the Marlies net from that point forward.

Spark would be rewarded for his play by the Maple Leafs by starting his first NHL game on November 30th, getting a shut out win over the Edmonton Lotteries.

Congratulations Sparkles on your achievement and recognition!
