# Team Canada brings Thunder  and Furies to the Olympics

Hockey Canada announced the final roster for the 2018 Olympics at noon EST today. Among the 14 forwards, 6 defenders and 3 goaltenders on the Olympic roster were two Furies and three members of the Thunder.

Toronto defender [Renata Fast](http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=372356&ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and Markham forward [Laura Stacey](http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=368676&ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) will make their Olympic debuts this February. This is the second Olympic Games for Furies forward [Natalie Spooner](http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=367156&ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) and Thunder defenders [Laura Fortino ](http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=367201&ref=pensionplanpuppets.com)and [Jocelyne Larocque](http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=367209&ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) (Larocque also centralized in 2010 but did not make the team).

Renata Fast, with four points and 16 penalty minutes in her 29 games of centralization, was one of the players most in doubt to make the team. Laura Stacey, another 2016-17 CWHL rookie, was also on the bubble but managed six goals and three assists in her 31 games.

Over the series against the USA, Spooner and Fortino were tied for third on Team Canada in scoring (with Calgary’s [Jillian Saulnier](http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=368508&ref=pensionplanpuppets.com)) with two goals and one assist each.

Canada will open their Olympic tournament with a game against the Olympic Athletes from Russia on February 11 at 9:10 pm local time (7:10 am EST).
