# Woo! Ben Scrivens!

Yesterday, the Leafs signed goalie [Ben Scrivens](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/111745/ben-scrivens?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) to a two-year deal, worth just over $600k per season. It's great value if he turns out to be a halfway serviceable backup, and not a big loss if he doesn't. It's a fair reward for a player who had a great season last year, and who may well start with the Leafs.
