# You Can't Win 'Em All, Sometimes You Can't Win Any

Well last night stunk and this night might not be much better. The [Colorado Avalanche](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/teams/COL?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) started this year in much the same boat we did. Everyone picked the Avalanche to be a lottery team but unlike Toronto the Avs have come out gunning and have quickly silenced their critics.

[Craig Anderson](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54849/Craig%5FAnderson?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) has done a respectable job in net for the ex-Nords and the return of [Paul Stastny](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/55485/Paul%5FStastny?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) hasn't hurt at all. 3rd overall pick [Matt Duchene](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/72479/Matt%5FDuchene?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) has acquitted himself well and [Wojtek Wolski](http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/55477/Wojtek%5FWolski?ref=pensionplanpuppets.com) looks to be back on track after a down year last season.

Meanwhile back in Toronto things aren't going well. The locker room is stressed out and players are gripping their sticks tight trying to force something to happen. The good news is that after tonight the Leafs only play 1 game in eleven nights (!) which should give them some time to stop the bleeding.
