Rich Clune was caught having a small chat with Nashville Predators' Cody Bass before tonight's game. Apparently these two have a history in the minors -- last year, as a member of the Milwaukee Admirals, Clune fought Bass during a match against the Rockford IceHogs. Notable in this AHL spar is the line, "And Clune has dropped Bass to the ice with three or four solid straight rights." Clune apparently remembered this fight well. When Mark Masters asked Clune during intermission about what he said to Bass, Clune answered frankly:
"Eh, it's just an ongoing battle with him. Every time we've fought, he's on the losing end. And he's wearing my number [16] in Nashville now, so I was telling him I'd rip that jersey off his chest if he was playing, but he wasn't playing, sooo..."
Mic drop, anyone?
