With their final pick of the 2016 NHL draft the Toronto Maple Leafs went back to Russia and grabbed forward NIkolai Chebykin from the Russian junior league.

In his second year in the MHL Chebykin scored 13 goals, 22 assists in 39 games. He was the 50th-ranked European skater by NHL Central Scouting.

A big framed skater, standing 6'3" right now and weighing in just over 200lbs, Chebykin may be more of a project than other players selected by the Maple Leafs in this draft, especially if they can get him over and into their system.

You can view Chebykin in this highlight from the World Junior A Challenge at Hockey Canada's website.
