Mitch Marner isn’t scoring at the rate of, say, Patrik Laine. Hell, he’s not even scoring at the rate of Auston Matthews. He only has seven goals to his name; isn’t that such a disappointment for a rookie who has played 21 games?

He has 18 points to his name, too: the most, alongside Laine, any rookie has so far this season. Eleven of those points are assists, the most any rookie has put up so far this season, alongside two defencemen, Brady Skjei and Zach Werenski. (That’s also tied for 28th in assists throughout the entire NHL.)

There is an area that Marner stands alone in, though, after putting up his latest two assists against the Washington Capitals. Via the Elias Sports Bureau:

It was the third multiple-assist game for Marner, the most this season by any NHL rookie. The 19-year-old Marner is the first teenager to produce three multiple-assist games in one season for the Maple Leafs since Vincent Damphousse had three such games for Toronto in 1986-87.

The only question is, how much longer until his next multi-assist game? Something tells me he’s probably going to be passing Damphousse later this season...
