Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Edmonton Oilers

There's no avoiding this as the Matthews vs. McDavid game. A non-rivalry which maybe could have been if these two captained the Canada and USA Olympic teams to an epic gold medal showdown, but alas, NHL players have not gone to the past two Winter Olympic Games, so they remain the top players from their respective countries that faceoff against each only two times each season. We do have hope it will finally happen for the 2026 games in Italy.

Tonight is one those two for this season, barring of course a Maple Leafs vs. Oilers Stanley Cup Final, which would probably be the most epic of Finals, but a lot of stuff has to happen first to make that even possible.

So for now, we have this one game. Here's our preview from this afternoon.
