The NHL announced their three stars of the week today, and there’s a Leafs player on the list! Last year, only Tyler Bozak received that honour.  This year, we expect many more Leafs getting accolades to decorate our Twitter feeds on Monday morning.

Connor McDavid with three goals and three assists in three games is the first NHL first star of the week this season. Matthews with four goals in two games (he only needed the one) is second, and Roberto Luongo with an unadjusted save percentage of .957 and two wins in two games is third.

He would have been happier with a win.  And that doesn’t seem to be an affectation of overblown hockey humility; that seems to be his real focus.  And that’s fine, but for the rest of us, we are absolutely allowed to watch this again:
