A month ago, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost 3-2 to the Montreal Canadiens in a shootout. This isn't particularly special - actually, maybe it's a little special because the Leafs got a point from the contest, something they haven't done too much of lately - except it was extremely special for two fans: Maddy and Lucas.

Because before that game, they hanged out with Doug Gilmour, and got to go on a massive shopping spree. And after the game, they went to bed in what essentially became a cottage suite, just above the rink.

Remember when Gilmour and Airbnb wanted to hear stories about why your fandom was the best fandom? That's a pretty good reward to get out of being an expressive diehard.

I wonder if the lucky couple got to watch the ACC crew turn the rink over into a basketball court overnight, too, or if they just slept through it. Also, how loud it is.

Probably the only thing not cool about all this - they got that $1,000 shopping spree, and then the Leafs revealed their new logo. I'd want a shopping spree with the new logo stuff! Make it last even longer!

Still, it'd be impossible to complain about a trip like that. Hopefully more people will get the chance to spend the night at the ACC in the future!
