The Leafs really did it.

I’m going to be honest with you: at the start of this season, I didn’t expect to be doing a podcast like this one.

Things have indeed gone well for the Leafs this year, and the fact that we got to chat about wether the Leafs would face the Ottawa Senators or the Washington Capitals stands as a testament. On the other hand, you can see the optimism drain away as the podcast goes on – when we started recording, the Leafs were up 2-0 on Columbus. By the end it was 3-2 and hoo boy, how that changes the Leafs’ odds of making the second round.

We talked a lot about different playoff matchups, including some of the potential pairings in the Western Conference, with the help of the Globe & Mail’s Eric Duhatschek. Primarily, we focus on how the Canadian teams will do, but we also chat about a couple other interesting possibilities, such as how Nashville could give Chicago a scare.

As always, the podcast is available for download if you’d like to listen later or offline.
