In case you missed this rule change about "paper loans" over the summer, players who are sent down to the AHL must play 1 AHL game before being recalled. This rule isn't effective until Oct 10th, meaning teams can maximize LTIR space by doing roster moves on the day rosters are due and Day 1 of the season. The Leafs are not in LTIR and will be banking cap space instead!
