I would just like to take a minute to run through the opponents that the New York Islanders have faced these playoffs.

  • They faced the trash Panthers in their play-in series.
  • They faced the Washington Capitals who played so poorly and reportedly were so disinterested in actually playing hockey that the coach got fired.
  • They barely eked out a 7 game series win against the Flyers, who had just struggled to beat the Canadiens the round before.
  • Now the Isles are facing a REAL team and got absolutely destroyed 8-2./

Am I exaggerating some of how bad their opposition is to make fun of the Isles? Yes. Yes I am. But it’s the Labour Day FTB and I don’t really feel like putting in more work.

Mike Babcock and Gerard Gallant have both interviewed for the Washington Capitals head coaching vacancy.
