Happy Saturday! The Leafs blendered their lineup at practice yesterday, but we don't know exactly what they're going to ice against Chicago because they had some players absent. Berube wasn't clear on who will be in net, but my guess is Woll.
I watched Berube's presser. Here are some things he said that I noted. Berube said Nylander has shown his leadership and shown it in the room, but it’s consistency that is lacking (so same old).
On the topic of sucking: “We’re going to go through that adversity, go through that wall as a team by every individual."
He also said they discussed the fact Toronto as a market has a lot more talk and a lot more noise, and how to deal with it. “Noise, you guys (the media) you’re doing your job, and there’s going to be lots of talk — the Leafs are big. But you (the team) gotta shut that off as best you can and focus on what you gotta do.”
No update on Tanev, "trending in the right direction", but "it’s going to be a bit."
I thought the last question was a good one, Berube was asked about balancing highlighting the things that need to improve but trying to still be positive. This is what he said, “It's a balancing act, you gotta do both. You gotta keep teaching and improving on mistakes. But at the same time there's good things too, and try to instill confidence that way."

32 Thoughts talked about the Leafs at the start. I haven't listened to it yet.
I can't help but laugh. Oh man.
Congratulations to MLSE leaders Edward Rogers, Tony Staffieri, Keith Pelley and Bobby Webster on being named to @TorontoLife 's most influential people of 2025 list! https://t.co/Fp76n7QT3m

Among the players to trade, I don't think Simon Benoit is obtaining the Leafs a mid-round pick. But sure with the rest. Personally, this plan only goes as far as a team that's outside the playoff picture and selling at the deadline.
This is random.

Erik Karlsson and the Pens are in Sweden against Roman Josi and the Predators.

Isaac Howard wanted to play on a competitive NHL team, so he left Tampa Bay for Edmonton out of college. Now he's going to the AHL. Troy Stecher is on waivers. I'd be interested! Especially with our injuries.

This article was grim.
